Using the 3D Printer
If you do not know how to use a 3D printer, do not use the printers without asking for help! Message the #3dprinters Slack channel and someone can train you.
SSI uses Prusa i3 MK3S printers. The preferred slicing software is PrusaSlicer, which can be downloaded here.
Printer etiquette
- If switching filament thread the loose end of the filament through the holes in the spool so that it doesn't become tangled
- If a printer is having issues leave a note on the printer explaining the issue and alert the #3dprinters channel
- Clean up any failed prints
- Any hygroscopic filaments such as Nylon and TPU should be stored in the low-humidity PolyBox to keep them in good condition
