W6YX is the Stanford amateur radio club. It is the oldest student group on campus, dating back to 1922, give or take. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month. W6YX has its own facility “The Shack” in the hills near the Big Dish, which members of the club have permission to access at night. The radio facilities themselves are quite impressive -- among the best amateur radio facilities in the country. There are also some pieces of equipment lying fallow which could be pressed into service with good reason and permission. [http://www-w6yx.stanford.edu/]
