SSI has a complex set of IT systems. We operate server hardware in several buildings on campus, as well as several cloud services. This is not going to be a complete list, as few people even know about all the different things.

sasha is a 2U Dell Rackmount server purchased for SSI in 2020 it features:
* 16 Core, 32 thread AMD EPYC 7302P
* 8x 3.5" SATA III Drive bays
* Dual redundant PSUs
* Several PCIe card slots
* 16 DDR4 L/RDIMM memory slots
The system is currently configured with 8Gb of RAM, 4x 2TB WD Red Hard drives (from a donor on Reddit!), and a single 240Gb SATA SSD. As our needs increase, we plan to upgrade the system with NVMe Storage, More RAM, and GPUs for Ansys acceleration.
Sasha runs proxmox, a Linux Hypervisor distribution. This means it's designed to run many VMs (virtual operating systems) within the main system. This approach is known as Hyper-Converged-Infrastructure or HCI. The benefit is flexibility, because new "servers" can be created and setup with a single button click. The following systems run within Sasha:

| Linux Container, with a large filesystem for general use. This file system is accessible over the web, as a SMB share, and through ssi-ws1. Anything that doesn't use Version Control (Git or SVN), and is not a Google Drive filetype, should be stored here. We don't want the Google Drive filled with large files.

| Windows 10 virtual workstation. This system can use the full CPU horsepower, and has Ansys, Autodesk Inventor, and Adobe software installed.
