SSI-42 was the 42nd launch of SSI Balloons, and the first flight demonstration of Version 6 of ValBal. The balloon remained aloft for nearly two days, traveling through California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, before finally landing near the town of Elida, New Mexico.
